Senior Basketball

Okay people, I have some good news and some bad news. Let's start with the good news shall we? Well, with the closing of the regular basketball season I'm proud to say that we won five games in a row, including the victory against St. John's on our Senior Night! I really want to thank all my teammates for making me an awesome sign as well, and for making this season one of the best. As for the bad news I'm sad to say that this was my last home game to played in the Munoz Gym. So many laughs, memories, friendships, and hard earned wins took place in that gym. While I was in the locker room I couldn't help but think that this would be my last time stepping out onto that court as a Holbrook Lady Roadrunner. But I have to say I'm proud to have represented the Holbrook girl's basketball team and at heart I will always be a Lady Roadrunner.
A few days later we traveled to Chinle to play our last season game against the Lady Wildcats. I'm glad to say we got the win after a slow three quarters. I don't really know why, but we just didn't play like we normally do for the first few quarters. Our solid defense kept us in the game and in the end we pulled away. A great effort by everyone led us to our fifth straight win, and put us ranked 6th in the state and 4th in the section. So I say that it was icing on the cake for my Senior year heading into the sectional games. We play our first game against Window Rock in Chinle, and I have high hopes of getting the win.
Gosh, I still can't believe that the four years of playing high school basketball is coming to an end. I mean, not too long ago I was shopping for my basketball shoes, and now I'm getting close to lacing them up for the last time for the setional games. So many things to say about my experiences with this sport, but what I will say is that I'm going to miss it a lot! I've gained so much knowledge from my Coach and my teammates and will cherish them forever. If there's one thing I have to say to the upcoming Seniors and underclassmen I would tell them to keep playing hard, keep the program strong, make it to the next level, have fun, and make it worhtwhile. Well, hope you enjoyed this little peice of my season and until next time, KB signing out!

oh gosh how i do know how you feel about our senior year! it seems like it was just yesterday that we were the fresh meat at the basketball tryouts! ha ha! I know its going to be a tough ending for us going into state basketball...but just think many years ago people could not even think Holbrook would make it to state being a #6seed. We have come along ways to turning the program around! I am thankful to have been apart of that change with you as well as the other teammates we have! We had so many memories together and i would not ever change them for nothing!
    love you girl...
    let's get it at state!
    always AB
