Painful but Victorious Week

Loma’tufki! In other words good evening folks. Well it’s been a whole week since my last blog. Can you believe it?! A whole week already! In a couple of days it’s going to be February, which means as for us seniors we only have four more months left until that baby is born! I don’t know whether to be excited about it or sad because that means we’ll be going off on our own without relying on anyone but our ourselves. On the bright side we will have achieved the first step of our teenage lives. But anyways enough about school let me tell you what happened to me this week.
The week started off pretty good and all was great until that third quarter of Tuesday night’s game against the Winslow Bulldogs. Unfortunately during that third quarter, while trying to attempt an aggressive lay-up, my landing didn’t turn out as I thought it would. While I usually come down smoothly I ended up landing straight on a Bulldog defender’s foot and consequently sprained my ankle. The pain wasn’t that bad but it was enough to make my coach sit me the rest of the game. That was so frustrating! The game was too intense for me to be sitting out at that point. Regardless, I sat anyway. Sitting there watching my teammates fight for the win was not what I planned for that game. But, in the end, I was very proud of them for defeating the Bulldogs on their senior night. That put the icing on the cake! Knowing that we beat our arch rivals, on their home court, during my senior year will be a memory I will keep forever.
The next game came on Friday and I was as ready as ever to be back on the court. Sadly, my coach thought otherwise, so I sat that game as well. I knew we would get the win, but I still felt that I could have contributed a little bit that night. Then came Saturday and once again my hopes of playing were shot down and the girl’s got the victory without me. But, hey I guess it’s better to heal up for my senior night, and also our last two games of the season. Also, with the state playoffs right around the corner, I will be pumped but hopefully not too much out of shape.
After writing this blog it has gotten me pretty pumped for these next few games and we’re going out on that court to kick the other team’s butts! So until then, KB signing out.

  1. I think the bun in my oven wants to get cooked a little more before going off into the world to get chewed out. I'm told that after high school life is suppose dot become way amazing. so far that's how its been, move one from one stage to the next only to find that this big scary monster you've been dreading is even more amazing then the last stage you just left. It sucks reading that you sprained your ankle I think in all my time at the high school I've only ever been to a couple games to actually see the our team play but I think it would have been epic to have you like in a wheel chair rolling around cheering XD

  2. Dang its kind of scary but great to hear the end of high school is near. That winslow game was awesome, it was all exciting especially when it went into overtime. Those times are hard when your injured and you cant even play because its holding you back but you can only watch. Better to have your ankle heal up then mess it up again, better safe than sorry! Good Luck in the Playoffs!!!

  3. Kellin, I hope that you ladies finish strong this season. I know that this season must mean a lot to you just by drawing on my experience in soccer. I think it would be pretty incredible if you girls could go further than HHS ladies' basketball ever has. Even if you don't, know that the school is proud of all the good work you've already done in this season. And who knows? You might bring home a title. That would be an awesome way to go. Here's to a successful finish for HHS Girls' Basketball!
