Phoenix!

Good evening fellow bloggers and welcome back to my page! What a weekend it has been and we have a lot of things to cover so here it goes. Well, first off I spent the weekend in Phoenix with my boyfriend, Jaycee. The weather was so nice and I finally got to bust out my flip slops, tank tops, and shorts while all my winter clothing gear got left at home. It was so nice to be in the valley of the sun! We started the weekend by going to watch a softball game where the ASU Sun Devils took on Central Connecticut, and let me tell you it’s always nice to watch ASU softball dominate on the field. The next day Jaycee took me to one of his track meets and after that we hit up the mall and shopped till we dropped. Later on that night after some a delicious dinner at Olive Garden, Jaycee and I went to his aunt’s house to play some prize bingo. I’ll just say the next time I play bingo, I’m hitting up the casino because I was on fire! We won so many prizes ranging from a liter of mountain dew to some bubbles, and even nail polish! Was a fun night with him and his family.
Then on Sunday, after a nice breakfast with my mom and dad, Jaycee took me to his old neighborhood where he used to live. As we were heading to the housing complex I noticed a really nice fountain that decorated the entrance into the neighborhood. As I looked at it I couldn’t help but think “How can people in other countries be so desperate for clean water just so they can live, while over here we just have water fountains anywhere and just use water for show.” I feel like we take the simple freedom of having water anytime we want for granted. People in other countries have to travel far to get clean water and probably can only get a few gallons at a time. Maybe in some countries, they aren’t even allowed to get water because of their race or political belief, yet we take it all for granted and act so naïve sometimes about simple things. It made me very thankful for the freedoms we have and what we are allowed to do. We are very lucky to have water whenever we want. It’s weird how a simple thing like access to water can lead to such a serious topic. I just think that we should be more thankful about all the freedoms and opportunity we are allowed to have here. I’ll end this blog here on this note. The next time you just go swimming or maybe just go out for a fun night to hang with friends, just be appreciative of everything we’re allowed to do and have. With that until next time KB signing out!

End of Season

Hello once again well basketball season is officially over now. We lost on Saturday to Window Rock in the second round of the playoff games at the NAU Sky Dome. We didn't do as well as we usually do but in the end I was still proud of my team for making it that far. We made it to our goal we set in the beginning of the season. I was really happy with our turn out of the whole season. I am really going to miss playing with that group of girls. Their like my sisters, I became really close with them. Especially the ones that I have been playing with for a long time, I am truly going to miss our laughs and silly moments we've shared. I am also going to miss Coach Perkins, he has taught me a whole lot throughout these past four years that I have been playing for him. He is a really great coach; I wouldn't have traded him for any other coach.

After we lost our game I was sitting in the locker room just thinking about the whole season and how it went for me. And I was really proud of myself for how I preformed throughout the whole season and I know that I wouldn't have done that good without the support of my father who is one of my coaches and family. They have always been there for me through every sport I have played. They were at every game cheering me on and supporting me. Even though I didn't always like the talks they gave me I knew in the end they were always right and I should always listen to what they have to say because without these talks or advice I wouldn't be the kind of athlete I am today. I love my family so much and I know they will always be there for me no matter what. I can ask them for advice if I need it or if I just need someone to talk to they will be there to listen.

I have to say my biggest fans are my parents. They have not missed one game ever since I was a little kid. Even if we played a million miles away from home they were there. They always took time off work just to be at the game. I really appreciate everything they do for me and I know they love me a bunch and I love them a whole lot. So my advice to you whatever you do never take your family and friends for granted

Softball season is starting now and this is my last sport I am going to be playing in High School this is a sad feeling but I'm really excited for softball to start time to prepare myself on getting dark so I better get my bottles of sunscreen ready. Well that's it for now until next time KB signing out.

Senior Basketball

Okay people, I have some good news and some bad news. Let's start with the good news shall we? Well, with the closing of the regular basketball season I'm proud to say that we won five games in a row, including the victory against St. John's on our Senior Night! I really want to thank all my teammates for making me an awesome sign as well, and for making this season one of the best. As for the bad news I'm sad to say that this was my last home game to played in the Munoz Gym. So many laughs, memories, friendships, and hard earned wins took place in that gym. While I was in the locker room I couldn't help but think that this would be my last time stepping out onto that court as a Holbrook Lady Roadrunner. But I have to say I'm proud to have represented the Holbrook girl's basketball team and at heart I will always be a Lady Roadrunner.
A few days later we traveled to Chinle to play our last season game against the Lady Wildcats. I'm glad to say we got the win after a slow three quarters. I don't really know why, but we just didn't play like we normally do for the first few quarters. Our solid defense kept us in the game and in the end we pulled away. A great effort by everyone led us to our fifth straight win, and put us ranked 6th in the state and 4th in the section. So I say that it was icing on the cake for my Senior year heading into the sectional games. We play our first game against Window Rock in Chinle, and I have high hopes of getting the win.
Gosh, I still can't believe that the four years of playing high school basketball is coming to an end. I mean, not too long ago I was shopping for my basketball shoes, and now I'm getting close to lacing them up for the last time for the setional games. So many things to say about my experiences with this sport, but what I will say is that I'm going to miss it a lot! I've gained so much knowledge from my Coach and my teammates and will cherish them forever. If there's one thing I have to say to the upcoming Seniors and underclassmen I would tell them to keep playing hard, keep the program strong, make it to the next level, have fun, and make it worhtwhile. Well, hope you enjoyed this little peice of my season and until next time, KB signing out!
